The laws in Morocco say the following:
Foreigners, who hold an international driving licence, may drive on the Moroccan territory during the period of validity of the licence. However, this duration cannot exceed one year.

It means that:
1. As a holder of a driving license from Australia, you can drive in Morocco without an International Driving Permit.
2. You will not need an International Driving Permit to drive in Morocco.
Different rental agencies might still require an IDP even while the local laws do not require it. Please find your appropriate local supplier in the list above to verify.
